Specific start and end dates are negotiable. Applicants will be expected to work 24-30 hours per week, although some flexibility can be provided for those who are completing summer coursework. Responsibilities will include: Help Desk • Manage computer peripherals with maintenance and troubleshooting • Answer user inquires in person and via telephone concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, Office applications, E-mails and Operating systems. • Support with hardware and software installation and troubleshooting, e-mail systems, Windows network connectivity. • Maintenance of software and hardware (e.g., desktops, laptops/peripherals, including, but not limited to printers, scanners, Blackberries, etc.). • Provide technical support with digital cameras, graphics software, etc. Network Administration • Assist MIS Specialist with MS Server 2003, Exchange Server 2007 • Maintain necessary backups and archives of servers • Maintain public area machines. • Setup web conferencing as needed. Web Design • Maintain Intranet • Assist with external website as needed. Other • Lead specific special projects assigned by supervisor Qualifications: • At least 1 year of undergraduate coursework in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science. • Working knowledge of Windows XP operating system and the MS Office Suite • Must possess some knowledge of Active Directory, Remote Access, Terminal Services Antivirus and Spyware troubleshooting knowledge. • Basic knowledge of back-up software; • Knowledge of HTML and Dreamweaver a plus • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to learn quickly, master new skills and work in a team environment. • Ability to carry up to 25 lbs. • Ability to exercise independent judgment when appropriate; strong decision-making skills.
