Lead Electrical Engineer – Baltimore

Categories: EngineeringExperience in the design of medium voltage (5kV to 35kV), and low voltage (480V and below) electrical systems for Electric Substations, Central Generator Plants, Combined Heat and Power Plants, District Energy Plants, and large electrical infrastructure projects for a variety of customers including Universities, Pharmaceutical Campuses, Utilities and Industrial Facilities.Strong client management, communication, and analytical skills. This individual will be primarily self-managed, with responsibility for analyzing and interpreting clients technical requirements, writing technical reports,and delegating engineering tasks to design engineers and design drafters. Ability to support projects from concept design through construction and commissioning. This includes preparation of schematic, design development,and construction-level drawings, specifications, engineering calculations, and cost estimates. Also includes shop drawing review, answering RFIs, attending construction meetings, and performing site inspections. Must be comfortable working in the field. This individual will travel to project sites to assess existing equipment(capacities and configurations), troubleshoot electrical protection and control systems, provide technical support during construction to clients, contractors, and construction managers, and witness electrical equipment field tests (switchgear protection and control system testing, generator performance tests, etc.).Detailed knowledge, understanding and application experience with the National Electric Code, IEEE design standards, ANSI equipment and design standards, etc.Ability to provide construction administration services including shop drawing review, answering RFIs, performance of site inspections, electrical equipment start-up and commissioning support.Requirements:Minimum of 7 to 10 years electrical power system design experience required.BSEE (or similar technical degree) and Professional Engineering Licensure required.
